Does DataPick send my data to any server?
No. All scraping, AI processing, and data storage happen entirely in your browser. The only exception is Google Sheets export, which sends data to Google's API only when you explicitly click "Export to Sheets" and authorize the connection.
How does the AI column labeling work without a server?
DataPick uses Transformers.js to run a lightweight ML model (all-MiniLM-L6-v2, ~23MB) directly in your browser. The model downloads once and is cached locally. It compares your extracted data against common column types to suggest appropriate labels.
Can I scrape any website?
DataPick can extract data from any website that loads in your browser. However, you are responsible for complying with each website's Terms of Service and applicable laws. DataPick includes a robots.txt checker (Pro) to help you stay compliant.
What is the difference between Free and Pro?
The Free plan gives you full access to the visual picker, auto-detection, and CSV/JSON export with a 100-row limit and 3 saved templates. Pro unlocks unlimited rows, AI column labeling, scheduled scraping, Google Sheets export, unlimited templates, and scrape history.
Do I need to know CSS selectors or coding?
Not at all. DataPick is designed for non-technical users. Just hover over items on a page, click to select, and click again to exclude false matches. DataPick handles the selector logic automatically behind the scenes.
How does scheduled scraping work?
Save a scrape configuration as a template, then set a schedule (hourly, daily, or weekly). DataPick uses Chrome's alarms API to open the page in a background tab, run the scrape, and save the results automatically. Note: scraping only runs while Chrome is open.
Can I get a refund?
Since DataPick Pro is a digital product delivered immediately, refunds are generally not available. However, if you experience a technical issue that prevents Pro features from working, please contact us and we will resolve the issue or provide a refund on a case-by-case basis.
